Eight Things That Will Stop You From Succeeding.

1.  Procrastination

So when is the right time for you to start out on your business ideas? It is now, today and not tomorrow. A lot of us put off acting on our ideas over and over, losing valuable time that could have been used to develop and establish the business. Putting things off indefinitely known as procrastination is a serious issue with many of us. All of us do it at one point or the other in our lives. But when it get's in the way of our progress or success, it becomes a real issue. It starts from things like putting off taking out the trash, postponing paying the bills, not doing their assignment on time and so on. It is a habit that is gradually developed and not one that you're born with. It is a manifestation of lack of self-control and regulation, a real obstacle to success

2. Discouragement

Several factors can bring on discouragement. People can discourage you. The system can discourage you from actually getting started. You've gone over your plans but when you share it with others, they shred it and give you dozens of reasons why it will not work (and you listen to them).

3. Financial Resources

Money is very important in any venture and a lack or insufficient amount of it can cause a setback. However any venture or undertaking that is viable can be financed by other means apart from personal. Loans can be obtained from friends, family or even financial institutions

4. Fear

Fear of the unknown, of failing or perhaps even of succeeding can prevent you from going ahead with your plans. If you look only on the dark side you will never go on to succeed. However, looking on the other side, working hard to succeed opens you up into a new world. A more comfortable life is one of such. Or maybe you are afraid of succeeding because you feel you will not be able to handle the responsibilities that come with it.You will learn.

5. Time

Creating time for what is of value and not wasting it on irrelevant and unprofitable actions will definitely aid in your success. Dedicate time to your goals and prioritize your activities. Do not try to please anyone just so they don't get offended. Learn to decline offers if they take your time unnecessarily and give you no value.

6. Distractions

Our present world presents before us a lot of distractions. Television, video games, internet , clubbing and so much more. Not that they are not good as such, but it should not be all we do. Staying focused is essential.

7. Lack of focus

Not being able to stay on track of what you want to do can certainly affect your level of success. Avoid things that take you off the path of tasks and goals that you need to go on to succeed.

8. Persistence

Not giving up on your goals and plans will go a long way in ensuring your success. Work on them constantly. See every set back as an opportunity to make it work in a different way and improve on it. Don't get easily discouraged. Keep at it.

To succeed takes a lot of time and effort, but the gains are surely worth the effort.

How Successful People Spend their Free Time

By free time, i'm referring to time that could otherwise have been spent on leisure, having fun and generally indulging in what will add little or no value to you. Not that it's not good to relax and have fun, but it shouldn't be all you do all of the time, at least not for a success oriented person.

Below are some  six "profitable'' ways to spend free time that can help you along the road to success

1. Knowledge

Working to improve yourself mentally, intellectually, career wise, or even acquiring new skills and knowledge that will aid and propel you along on your road to success. You've got to be ready to invest time and resources to get these.Something that when you learn will help you do your present work better or even start something entirely new. Take courses, classes over weekends or holidays.

2. Interact

Getting to know people especially new ones can open you up to a lot of ideas and experiences from which you can tap.I'm talking about people with whom you can engage in meaningful conversation with and come away with a rich load and your neurons fired up.I'm talking about face to face interactions not through a medium like say, phone. Engage with people that are successful and doing well in their chosen fields or areas of endeavor.

3. Keep in shape

Staying fit physically helps the mind to stay alert. It allows you to  concentrate better, dealing with problems becomes easier and you are able to proffer solutions faster. Your posture also impacts on how people relate with you,and the way you carry yourself speaks volumes about you. A regular exercise regime is important for that all round well being thereby increasing your level of confidence.

4. Eat healthy

Eating adequately and in the right proportions ensures the body  gets the necessary nutrients needed for proper bodily functions. It helps to improve emotional and mental health, thereby increasing your productivity and your outlook to life generally. It gives you a better mood and a feeling of happiness while unhealthy eating on the other hand can bring about anxiety and negative thoughts.

5. Meditate

Meditating helps to calm your nerves and find peace within   yourself. You can look for a quiet place where you can relax. close   your eyes, and think about pleasant moments. It does the body, a  lot of good.

While commuting to work, I've observed a lot of chauffeur driven  people in "big" cars , and one thing that i found common to 90% of them is that they had a book open before them and were actually reading it. Reading opens up the mind and you can tap from the wealth of experience of others.

Generally people like to hold unto things that give them security. That little pay that they get from the job they have at present and don't want to loose because they're not sure if and how soon they will get another one.Year after year, they remain at the job, which probably they are not happy at any way- long hours, poor pay, poor service conditions and all the rest. Fear keeps them caged in. Every now and then they think- if only i could get a better job or an additional one to augment what i get now; Or may be go into business, but what kind of business- how do i start, how do i build it and how long before i start to reap from it, and then they withdraw back into their misery, all hope defeated. And the years keep passing. If your employer had your mentality, you would not have a job in the first place. He thought differently, reasoned differently, believed in himself, acted differently and took the step.
He desired to change his situation, make something better for himself and was determined to make it work and that's why you are working for him- An EMPLOYEE.
I know of individuals who earned fantastic pay but still left such jobs because they wanted to be free, free from unreasonable commands, unreasonable targets and long hours- they wanted to be independent and manage their own time their own way. If you start work at 8:00am and close at 6:00pm, the hours within this period do not belong to you but to your employee. Yes that's  right- i guess you never thought of it that way. An employer once said to me. If you are as smart as me, you would not be working for me: well i guess he's kind of right don't you think?

Yes. So you've decided to leave the Comfort Zone. Well, here comes the CONFLICT So now you've put everything into consideration, you've planned, researched and finally decided to break forth and go for it.Good. But remember nobody told you it was going to easy or smooth sailing. There would be so many factors to contend with and you might get scared. You are now out of your shell, exposed and your success depends on your effort and a bit of good luck.
Factors such as existing and emerging competition will work against you. But  guess what, a lot of the big companies we have today had such noble beginnings. They withstood periods of economic depression, wars, unfavorable policies and stiff competition. Some failed, started all over again, and today, they are giants.Shear determination, perseverance and hard work are not negotiable necessities. If all this works out, you and you alone would enjoy the benefits. There is no room for Failure.

What success means.

The Print and Electronic media is awash with various definitions of what success is. To me Success is an all encompassing word that one can seldom claim in all it's ramifications, but a fair degree attainment, self worth and contentment will suffice.
